RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Research Assistant, Clemson University (Summer 2024-Fall 2025)
Worked under Dr. Brent Morris’ supervision on a project aimed at illuminating enslaved peoples contained in deeds from Pickens District from 1828-1866. Responsibilities included digitizing the documents on an IXH camera, transcription, and metadata collection.

Research Assistant, Clemson University (January 2023-Summer 2024)
Worked under Dr. James Burns on various projects related to cinema studies in South Carolina and in South Asian communities.

Teacher of Record, Clemson University (Fall 2025)
Taught History 1010: United States’ History to 1877. Created lesson plan, prepped lectures and assignments, and graded work for 40 students.

Interdisciplinary Research Fellowship, Clemson University (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025)
Received $2,000 to complete and analyze a dataset containing divorce petition records in the Antebellum South.

Humanities Hub Graduate Summer Fellowship, Clemson University (Summer 2024)
Received 9% of assistantship stipend to create a dataset containing divorce petitions records from 1800-1860 found in the U.S. South.

Interdisciplinary Research Fellowship, Clemson University (Fall 2023 and Spring 2024)
Received $2,200 to study where and when Jack Johnson and James Jeffries’ 1910 boxing match was broadcast throughout the United States.

WORK EXPERIENCE

County Surveyor, Deeds Unbound Project
As part of a larger project composed of faculty members from multiple departments at Clemson University. Contacted and traveled to county registrar offices in South Carolina to survey deed records.
